After having briefly described the smart contracts in general, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the main legal issues, the Author focuses on the possibility and on the legal effects of their application in air transport where smart contracts could, at least at a first view, represent a useful tool for a stronger and more effective protection of passengers in the event of flight cancellation or delay.
