The article presents the Italian translation and the analysis of a letter (London, 12 February 1421) written by Poggio Bracciolini to his friend Niccolò Niccoli. It is a text in which the Humanist deals with themes dear to him: friendship, institutions and monastic libraries in England, the economic possibilities, the private sphere and philosophical reflec-tions, that will be developed in his future literary production.
