The studies of cultural policy are the domain which this book - a miscellany by the publisher Franco Angeli, included in the series «Biblioteca storica degli economisti italiani» - belongs to. It marks and implements a historic approach to study - as the introduction states - «from a historical point of view some themes of the Italian policy about higher education between 1900 and 1942 and their effects on a specific side of Italian culture» (p. 10). The introduction, which is written by Piero Barucci, Simone Misiani and Manuela Mosca, sheds light particularly on the relationship between the universities, considered as the main source of culture in a society, and politics.
