The study of environmental history through the archaeological evidence of resources exploitation is illustrated, according to the approach of the Laboratory of Environmental Archaeology and History (LASA). The principles of micro-history are used to investigate the effects produced by the activities of social groups on the environment with which they interact, through the adoption of practices that can multiply and manage the biodiversity. The inter- and multidisciplinary approach necessary for these purposes poses the problem of the training of professionals capable of addressing and managing a wide range of disciplines in the frame of the historical approach to the study of ecosystems at the boundaries between human, physical, geological and biological sciences.

Abstract
The study of environmental history through the archaeological evidence of resources exploitation is illustrated, according to the approach of the Laboratory of Environmental Archaeology and History (LASA). The principles of micro-history are used to investigate the effects produced by the activities of social groups on the environment with which they interact, through the adoption of practices that can multiply and manage the biodiversity. The inter- and multidisciplinary approach necessary for these purposes poses the problem of the training of professionals capable of addressing and managing a wide range of disciplines in the frame of the historical approach to the study of ecosystems at the boundaries between human, physical, geological and biological sciences.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
