The paper presents an experiment that provides a pipeline for the creation of HDR images starting from single shots saved in files Raw (English: unprocessed). The RAW format retains many information recorded by the camera sensor which, during the compression phase, are lost. The comparison between the three-dimensional SfM model, obtained with the HDR images, and the models deriving from the processing of the LDR images and the survey, acquired through laser scanner instrumentation, allow to draw some conclusions on the reliability and precision of the procedures.

Abstract

The paper presents an experiment that provides a pipeline for the creation of HDR images starting from single shots saved in files Raw (English: unprocessed). The RAW format retains many information recorded by the camera sensor which, during the compression phase, are lost. The comparison between the three-dimensional SfM model, obtained with the HDR images, and the models deriving from the processing of the LDR images and the survey, acquired through laser scanner instrumentation, allow to draw some conclusions on the reliability and precision of the procedures.
