In her book "On Clear and Confused Ideas" Ruth Millikan presents a strong attack on Frege. I will try to go beyond the too obvious opposition between the “new” ideas presented by Millikan and the “old” Fregean ones, to suggest some similarities where it would be difficult to find them.
