This essay summarizes the main lines of thought of the outstanding Polish philosopher, critic and writer Stanisław Brzozowski, starting from an Italian selection of his texts. Brzozowski’s works are envisaged as a very important contribution to the European philosophy of culture, which he developed in the light of an original conception of labour and human emancipation by struggling with Marxism and pragmatism. Motifs of German, French, Italian, Russian and Anglo-American contemporary currents merged with the Polish Romantic tradition of philosophy of action and messianism amounting to deep insights into time, history, religion, and human existence.
