In the transportation of goods and people, human behaviour is a major risk factor. This study aim to project a technological and methodological approach to enhance safety in different transport modes, because we set the human factor as the center of a complex transport system. A system of systems engineering approach was developed where the main system components relate to the driver, the truck and the external environment conditions. Mainly we observed a correlation between heart rate variability and use of steering wheel. The methodology which was adopted to monitor the whole system and preliminary results are illustrated.

Abstract
In the transportation of goods and people, human behaviour is a major risk factor. This study aim to project a technological and methodological approach to enhance safety in different transport modes, because we set the human factor as the center of a complex transport system. A system of systems engineering approach was developed where the main system components relate to the driver, the truck and the external environment conditions. Mainly we observed a correlation between heart rate variability and use of steering wheel. The methodology which was adopted to monitor the whole system and preliminary results are illustrated.File in questo prodotto:
