Abstract
The prediction of the comfort level of the yacht in the early design stage, by using methodologies suitable to predict the dynamic behaviour of the unit is the challenge for the designer. In case the resulting noise and vibration levels were not acceptable, the shipyard can apply corrective actions to reduce their effects before the construction stage. To perform a finite element model predict analyses is extremely important for investigate the dynamic behaviour of a vessel. An important parameter able to influence the result of a numerical model is the added masses. In this paper, the added mass of a yacht is studied. A comparison between the added mass obtained by the famous Lewis formulation and the numerical results is carry out. In a first case, a simple study case is investigated and after the added mass is calculated for a superyachtFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
