Recent archaeological and archaeomeric studies have led to the identication in Barcelona à TachesNoires pottery from dfferent origins. This type of pottery, traditionally referred as ‘plats de dol’ (mourning dishes), is very abundant in Barcelona in contexts dated back to the 18th century. These recent studies have enabled to establish that besides the original pottery from Albisola (TN1), there exist in Barcelona products of at least two other origins (TN2 and TN3), which are compatible with a local origin in Barcelona itself or on the Maresme coast to the north of the town. Moreover, the petrographic results on this sections show that the pottery of one of these origins (TN2) exhibits the same production technique employed at Albisola itself. On the contrary, the pottery of the other origin (TN3) uses a di"erent production technique just with similar macroscopic results in the endproduct. #ese results seem to point to two di"erent situations, one of knowledge transfer and another one of pure imitation respectively
