The article examines, on the basis of examples taken from ongoing research, some of the multiple ways in which the relationship between ancient texts and iconography can be declined: thus showing the potentials of effective didactic evidentia in a contemporary culture dominated by the image, and at the same time making emerge its heuristic value, sometimes decisive, for the interpretation of the literary text.
L’articolo prende in esame, sulla base di esempi tratti da ricerche in corso, alcune fra le molteplici modalità attraverso cui si può declinare la relazione fra testi antichi e iconografia: mostrandone quindi le potenzialità di efficace evidentia didattica in una contemporaneità dominata dall'immagine, e facendone al tempo stesso emergere il valore euristico, talora decisivo, ai fini dell'interpretazione del testo letterario.
