The paper intends to describe development and results of the project Me.R Mediterraneo in rete / Méditerranéen en réseau, funded under the Operational Programme Italy-France ‘Maritime’, aimed to enhance product and process innovation and increase competitiveness of the entrepreneurial framework through cooperation and networking between four cross-border regions: Liguria, Sardinia, Tuscany and Corsica, with the participation of the French department Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA). The project has highlighted that the cross-border areas have similar environmental, socio-cultural and economic conditions, so as it is possible to address common (sustainable) development strategies to enhance the existing resources and, amongst them, forest resources.
