The experience of entering into a library of a Genoese aristocratic of sixteenth or seventeenth century is something that today is almost impossible for anyone: the dispersion of the library, the radical change undergone by the palaces and the fragmentation of the richest collections artwork that conversed in the cultural space of libraries has made extremely difficult to understand the close relationship between literary knowledge, collectibles and art production. Thanks to the re-reading of the documents, we have come to greater understanding of the works that adorned the rooms of some of the most important libraries in the sixteenth and seventeenth century in Genoa. The book aims to demonstrate through a strict methodology of art-historical, archival and documentary research that all materials outcomes - books, paintings and statues - created from a single cultural context are inseparably linked and debtors each other of important influences.

Abstract
The experience of entering into a library of a Genoese aristocratic of sixteenth or seventeenth century is something that today is almost impossible for anyone: the dispersion of the library, the radical change undergone by the palaces and the fragmentation of the richest collections artwork that conversed in the cultural space of libraries has made extremely difficult to understand the close relationship between literary knowledge, collectibles and art production. Thanks to the re-reading of the documents, we have come to greater understanding of the works that adorned the rooms of some of the most important libraries in the sixteenth and seventeenth century in Genoa. The book aims to demonstrate through a strict methodology of art-historical, archival and documentary research that all materials outcomes - books, paintings and statues - created from a single cultural context are inseparably linked and debtors each other of important influences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
