Self-esteem is an important quality and a personality trait considered as a specific requirement for the Healthcare students in their academic learning experience both in classroom and in clinical training, and also for the Healthcare professionals in the future job during their relationship with patients/caregivers, healthcare team members and hospital management. So it is thus essential to evaluate self-esteem during student hood since self-esteem can both be a barrier to learning as well as an outcome of effective learning. This chapter aimed at finding out how personal factors such as self-esteem, locus of control and the motivation, and demographic factors such as age, ethnicity, and gender, affect the students’ academic success. Understanding the diverse causative and predictive factors, might help educators in developing more effective prevention programs and strategies.
