Salvia wagneriana Polak is diffused in Guatemala, Salvador and Costa Rica, and well adapted in the Ligurian Riviera. This species is included in the subgenus Calosphace. This subgenus, stated by Bentham and revised by Epling, is centred primarily in Central Mexico and Central America, and characterized by the presence of clerodane diterpenoids in the secreted material [3]. From Salvia wagneriana we previously isolated some di- and triterpenoids [4, 5]. Aim of our study is to continue the survey on this species, in order to get more information about the morphology of the glandular trichomes, the histochemistry of the secretion products and the isolation of isoprenoid constituents from the surface exudate of its aerial parts
