We present our experience with teaching an elective course in mechanics of machines to students of automation engineering. The subjects of the course are related to those of system and control engineering in order to emphasize relationships with core courses of the curriculum. The traditional organization of the course into classroom lectures is supported by a multibody simulation software and by the computer-laboratory work of teams of students. Students must build the multibody model of a mechanical system that satisfies gives tasks. Then, they must use it as a facility to understand several matters that they have already studied in other courses or that have been presented in our classroom activity Satisfactory results require strong interactions with teachers.

Abstract
We present our experience with teaching an elective course in mechanics of machines to students of automation engineering. The subjects of the course are related to those of system and control engineering in order to emphasize relationships with core courses of the curriculum. The traditional organization of the course into classroom lectures is supported by a multibody simulation software and by the computer-laboratory work of teams of students. Students must build the multibody model of a mechanical system that satisfies gives tasks. Then, they must use it as a facility to understand several matters that they have already studied in other courses or that have been presented in our classroom activity Satisfactory results require strong interactions with teachers.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
