The program MatLab is one of the powerful instruments for Numerical Calculus and Programming. These notes are an useful very easy and immediate way to introduce students of a second level course in Mathematics or Engineering Science to MatLab computing. The main commands to handle matrices and variables are described and further the principal techniques of linear algebra are presented. Then the students are introduced to commands which allow to work with complex numbers, polynomials and 2D or 3D graphic design. These notes end with a tutorial towards programming by creating suitable m-files, by defining new functions and by using the fundamental structures of logic.
