Abstract

The combined effects of initial ferulic acid concentration (S0) and biomass concentration (X0) on vanillin production by resting cells of Escherichia coli strain were investigated using response surface methodology. E. coli JM109/pBB1 a recombinant strain producing key enzymes of ferulate catabolic pathway from P. fluorescens BF13 (feruloyl-CoA synthetase and feruloyl-CoA hydratase/aldolase) was utilized in this work.
