The social-economic reasons that lead Genoa, between the end of nineteenth century and the beginning of twentieth century, to live an intense period of great building fervor, involve even the close communal areas that, starting from the 1926 ( yeaf of completion of all the annexations), will give to the original Commune the name of “ Great Genoa”. The urban transformation process the touches Genoa involves the Commune of Cornigliano too, productive and industrial area. The facades of the buildings on the straight stretch of Via Cornigliano-between piazza Massena and piazza Savio- reflects the eclectic tends, coming from the international Revival, with a particular attention of the floreal style (Liberty). The result of this great building effort let us say: if it is true that the glamour of a street rises from its the facades, than it is true that Via Cornigliano, even if is a suburban route, can be considered an example of the main straight stretches into the urban panorama of the Great Genoa at the beginning of XXth Century.
