The rapid economic growth that Morocco has seen in recent decades is largely driven by the expansion of the tourism sector, which also have deep changes of land use and the emersion of important problems of social and cultural order. Based on general considerations and investigations on the ground, the authors suggest that some cases are a sort of epitome of the problems and opportunities that tourism offers for the development of inland areas of Morocco.
