Abstract

An interesting approach to the reduction of fuel consumption is the use of CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plants. In order to have good performance, to respect all the requirements imposed by energy saving regulations and to adapt the operating thermal and electrical production to the requirement of the load, a quasi-static optimization technique has been developed. This has led to the optimisation of a Multinode CHP plant, as performances may be further improved with the introduction of an additional degree of freedom (“on-off” state of some machines).
