In 2004 Genoa was the European culture’s capital. While the debate was fervent on the Christian roots of Europe, as controversial to coding’s level in the European constitution as shared in the common feel of the citizen and of the researcher, the chair of the ancient Christian Literature - under the guide of Sandra Isetta, who has involved the archdiocese and its bishop card. T. Bertone - she has taken the opportunity to introduce a new and more concrete kind of debate, subtracting it to the abstract disputes of political and jurists to lower it in a cultural context, specifically literary, to search texts and documents that, perceived as peculiar expression of the modern European literatures, they still reveal evident the debt of dependence from that literary archetypes made in the Christianity's early centuries. There was a moment of high comparison between researchers of different disciplines who has studied French, English, Slavonic literature and theatre’s, cinema’s arts history and journalists, vaticanists, essayists, writers. Every single thematic has been discussed by a Christianist and a modernist. The book contain the two voices essay, shared in literary genres and themes: narrative-theatre-cinema (The centrality of Christian drama), hagiography (The martyr and the saint), exegesis (The red thread of the symbol), eschatology (At the end of the time).
