ABSTRACT. Since the 80’s, in Italy, the architectural preservation has refused aesthetical judgment. The necessity to recognize the beauty of the architecture has been eliminated and the buildings are seen how whole of signs and historical traces. In effects the twentieth century have denied the existence of the beauty in more occasions but in the last years we assist to a return of interest for the matter. Who has tried to recuperate the theme of beauty, has done this following forms of the past and the results have brought towards the kitsch and not in the direction of the beauty.
