This is the first and only Italian teaching book on trusts, aimed at University and post-University education. It covers the law of trusts in England and in the offshore jurisdictions in terms understandable by civil law jurists and to that extent is a comparative law book. However, it also deals with the applications that trusts have had and are having in Italy. The second part of the book covers a similar area under purely Italian law and sketches the structure of a novel contractual relationship, the “contratto di affidamento fiduciario”, rooted on old civilian institutions that may be recovered and fund new rules. Under those rules solutions emerge that compete with trusts.
