Only in some cases, international Conventions intervene to give the necessary guide lines to solve unfair and detrimental situations which could give rise to possible claims. In these respect, even Italian Code of Navigation recognizes the important role of “lex mercatoria” in the maritime field, role that therefore is not superseded by legal rules.
