The work focalizes on the use of modelling and simulation to analyze security problems in seaport. In particular the authors developed a simulation model of a terminal container; the paper proposes a simple application example as a special case study to evaluate the potentiality of simulation in this field (and the relative efforts during the modelling phase) as well as to make some preliminary analysis of the container inspection phases and considerations about good design of security systems.
