In this paper the authors outline the impact of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) on the activities to design systems that guarantee the security of logistics infrastructures and facilities. The critical aspects related to sector innovations are described along with the unresolved issues regarding development of effective simulation models to support new security system design activities.
