Our planet is suffering from pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, especially in urban areas, in which the traditional transport based on private vehicles and fossil fuels has failed from the sustainability point of view. There is the need to switch to green alternatives, and a choice is sure to switch to sustainable mobility: electric mobility. To achieve this, the main issues related to electric vehicles need to be overcome: in this paper the definition of an optimal scheduling problem of electric buses charging process is presented. Through a period of 24 hours, various scenarios have been analyzed, in which a system composed of a charging station operating at maximum power 100 kW with three sockets is tested, constrained by the energy request of each vehicle and departure times. The results are analyzed for a real-world application in Genoa city, to see a fully electric public transport system.
