Spectrum measurement is an important kind of indirect dynamic measurement. Here a unified foundation is searched, despite the variety of dynamic phenomena to be considered, namely periodic, transitory impulsive, stochastic stationary and stochastic nonstationary. Therefore, the model of the measurand is considered, and key metrological features to be kept under control and optimised are outlined and discussed.
