The contribution focuses on the theme of architecture for living through the analysis of two projects by the Danish studio BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group): the VIA 57West in New York and the 8House in Copenhagen. The bold, provocative and seemingly oblivious forms of the context in which they are inserted characterize the architectural style of the BIG studio and find in the housing sector an opportunity for experimentation which, however, is consistent with western European tradition. The examples cited reveal a connection with twenties of -19th-centurry living structures of German origin such as the Siedlung of the early 1920s and take up principles attributable to the megastructures that followed the Second World War. The study conducted has the objective of analysing the geometry and scale relationships of the housing aggregation, to deepen the relationships and contradictions that occur between the regularity of the planimetric design and the perception of the volumes during the dynamic exploration of the architecture. The digital reconstructions of the architecture and the context highlight the role of these projects by the BIG studio in the definition of an aggregative system capable of considering the different scales of the project and relating simultaneously both to people and to the global urban structure, according to a spirit attributable to a contemporary megastructure for the city of the future

Abstract
The digital reconstructions of the architecture and the context highlight the role of these projects by the BIG studio in the definition of an aggregative system capable of considering the different scales of the project and relating simultaneously both to people and to the global urban structure, according to a spirit attributable to a contemporary megastructure for the city of the futureI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
