Over time, the Design has matured and changed, interpreting the evolution of society, as well as the different human needs and critical aspects of contemporary life. This multiverse scenario includes Naval and Nautical Design, of which Nautical Heritage is a part. The latter combines material and intangible heritage. The first is a physical heritage to be recovered, and the second is a cultural aspect to be preserved. The context is still strongly linked to the maritime tradition and the know-how of a few professionals motivated by their own experience rather than by a shared methodology. To define and consolidate - even in this branch - a correct approach, aiming to valorise and recover the Nautical Heritage, it appears essential to strengthen those renewal actions already started by consolidating a critical communication between the world of the Academy and that of the professions. In light of this, the essay aims to frame the methodological approach to the valorisation and recovery of the Nautical Heritage by declining it through the methodological skills of the designer in a holistic vision in which the traditional know-how and the technique and experience of individual experts can intertwine and draw strength from an innovative, scientific and shared approach. The paper will be articulated in: introduction; method and design approach; emotion, perception and creative process; new technology and conservation of tradition; conclusion.

Abstract
The paper will be articulated in: introduction; method and design approach; emotion, perception and creative process; new technology and conservation of tradition; conclusion.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
