The Carducci House Library in Bologna preserves numerous unpublished texts including an apparatus of commentaries and annotations to Dante’s Purgatorio. This apparatus is written on an interleaved copy of the Commedia commented by Brunone Bianchi. We propose here the edition of Carducci’s unpublished annotations and postils on Canto XXVI of Purgatorio, a source of interest to us for the author’s judgement on the poetry of Arnaut Daniel, perfectly in line with the opinion he was developing on troubadour lyricism, whose cerebral character, artificial nature and, in short, its predominantly “formal” essence he perceived above all.

Abstract
The Carducci House Library in Bologna preserves numerous unpublished texts including an apparatus of commentaries and annotations to Dante’s Purgatorio. This apparatus is written on an interleaved copy of the Commedia commented by Brunone Bianchi. We propose here the edition of Carducci’s unpublished annotations and postils on Canto XXVI of Purgatorio, a source of interest to us for the author’s judgement on the poetry of Arnaut Daniel, perfectly in line with the opinion he was developing on troubadour lyricism, whose cerebral character, artificial nature and, in short, its predominantly “formal” essence he perceived above all.File in questo prodotto:
