Representation is the act of representing, and while most often the term refers primarily to pictorial, graphic and sculptural works involving the disciplines of drawing, in a broader sense representation also refers to the realms of theatre, film and television. From what emerges from the definition itself, it is clear how the term representation is inextricably linked to both drawing and theatre. A link that also seems to exist between the two disciplines themselves. To further confirm this, consider how, in the theatrical sphere, drawing has always been the fundamental means of expression for the definition and realisation of stage sets. Moreover, since antiquity, mythological and religious narratives have been the subject of both pictorial and theatrical representations. Even some contemporary dramaturgical experiments are based on forms of graphic representation. On an experimental basis, as part of a collaboration with the theatre company DeiDemoni and the Falcone Interdepartmental Centre for University Theatre, a play was realised whose narration starts with a graphic representation. When the narrative power of the word ends, a graphic narration takes over, created directly by the actors who, drawing on the black scenes, transform them - scene after scene - into a graphic apparatus capable of bringing the characters of the narration to life. With these characters, the two actors will interact to the point of establishing a true dialogue between drawing and theatre.

Abstract
With these characters, the two actors will interact to the point of establishing a true dialogue between drawing and theatre.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
