A hierarchical graph-based data structure for description of a VLSI object is defined. This model, called hierarchical hypergraph with ports (HPH-graph), provides structural representations at different levels of abstraction. A set of basic constructive primitives for defining the HPH-graph representation of a VLSI object is presented.

Abstract
A hierarchical graph-based data structure for description of a VLSI object is defined.
