Le isole amministrative italiane come aree interne. Spunti di riflessione verso un nuovo approccio geografico-politico

This paper aims to resume the topic of the Italian administrative islands, little addressed in the literature of recent years. After a brief introduction and a recovery of the existing literature, a connection is made with the wider issue of inner areas, in particular on the basis of the objectives of the Strategia Nazionale per le Aree Interne and of the Manifesto per riabitare l’Italia (2020). In fact, most of the administrative islands are inner areas and analyzing them through this lens allows to propose new regeneration strategies arising from local initiatives. Finally, an atlas of the administrative islands is proposed in the WebGIS format, in order to make it usable and modifiable by researchers engaged in the subject.
