Active exoskeletons give an important support to people recovering from neural diseases and to spinal cord injured patients. Upper limbs involvement could be however problematic if the subject overloads his/her shoulders. The European consortium EUROBENCH, developed several testbeds to evaluate exoskeleton performances in working conditions. Our BULLET projects, Benchmarking Upper Limbs Loads on Exoskeleton Testbeds, deals specifically with the interaction between pilots and exoskeletons at the upper limb level. The Bullet sub-project setup includes: • an anatomical volume scanner for a personalized anthropometric subject characterization. • a set of instrumented crutches to measure directly external forces entering in the upper limbs. • a biomechanical model to estimate shoulder loads.
