This paper proposes an innovative control technique for the primary regulation of an islanded microgrid (MG) composed only by power converters and without any rotating electrical machine. The proposed method is based on the Model Predictive Control (MPC) technique and it is applied to an islanded portion of the Smart Polygeneration Microgrid (SPM) testbed facility of the University of Genoa in Italy. The proposed control system is a decentralized one due to the fact that each inverter is equipped with its own control system that takes into account only local measurements and has the advantage of avoiding any frequency or voltage deviations. A simulation is provided in order to highlight the performances of the proposed approach.

Abstract
This paper proposes an innovative control technique for the primary regulation of an islanded microgrid (MG) composed only by power converters and without any rotating electrical machine. The proposed method is based on the Model Predictive Control (MPC) technique and it is applied to an islanded portion of the Smart Polygeneration Microgrid (SPM) testbed facility of the University of Genoa in Italy. The proposed control system is a decentralized one due to the fact that each inverter is equipped with its own control system that takes into account only local measurements and has the advantage of avoiding any frequency or voltage deviations. A simulation is provided in order to highlight the performances of the proposed approach.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
