TOURISM IN LIGURIA: PERSPECTIVES AND GOVERNANCE FOR POSSIBLE POST COVID-19 SCENARIOS. - The emergency due to the global pandemic Covid-19 requires a rethinking of tourism models at national and international level, in light of the spread of the Virus in the Planet. It is not yet known what the future will be, but what is evident the world will no longer be as it was before. Significant recurrences will occur in all sectors that will affect the economies of both developing countries and those defined as advanced countries, as evidenced by the forecasts of international agencies that assume a decline in world GDP by 2.4% in 2020. In this context, tourism is in a particularly disadvantaged position, as a “non-dematerialized” sector, where it is not possible to apply flexible or smart working logic. Liguria is among the top ten Italian regions affected by the health emergency and the appearance of the summer season requires local authorities to reflect on the implementation of policies aimed at trying to relaunch tourism and tourist destinations in Liguria. In addition, these initiatives will also have to take into account the health of the local population, considering the fact that one of the first outbreaks of the Region has affected the highly touristic area of Alassio (Savona). The contribution aims to focus on the management of the tourism phenomenon in Liguria in summer 2020, in light of the measures introduced by the governance for the management of “phase 2” (and subsequent ones) of the pandemic. The attention will be focused on the practices implemented in the field of food and wine tourism and ecotourism by presenting a regional case study, taking into account that these forms of sustainable tourism have the aim, in addition to protecting and promoting local products and the territory, to create development opportunities for the local population.
