Through-wall imaging is an application field in which microwaves play an important role, thanks to their ability of penetrating inside building materials. In this framework, the aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it presents an analytical forward model able to effectively describe the scattering phenomena by fully taking into account all the reflection and transmission effects due to the wall. On the other hand, a new inversion procedure, able to address the full underlying non-linear inverse scattering problem, is introduced. Some numerical results aimed at validating the two approaches are shown.

Abstract
Through-wall imaging is an application field in which microwaves play an important role, thanks to their ability of penetrating inside building materials. In this framework, the aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it presents an analytical forward model able to effectively describe the scattering phenomena by fully taking into account all the reflection and transmission effects due to the wall. On the other hand, a new inversion procedure, able to address the full underlying non-linear inverse scattering problem, is introduced. Some numerical results aimed at validating the two approaches are shown.File in questo prodotto:
