Abstract

In the vast catalog of coastal landscapes, ports represent the most radical modifications since they have determined the birth of a new artificial territory, a logistics landscape which legitimizes a scientific research for interpretative tools and dedicated project methodologies. Thanks to its position in the Mediterranean basin, Liguria is a strategic territory for trade routes. It is a unique combination of nature, city, infrastructure that has faced the fragility of ecosystems producing a set of plural landscapes. In this context, Genoa represents a significant fragment of this multiplicity.
