Edible flowers may have a relevant importance in improving human health by virtue of possessing interesting nutritional characteristics. The European Union together with the trans-border framework INTERREG-ALCOTRA, funded the project 'Innovative activities for the development of a cross-border supply chain of edible flowers' (ANTEA). This abstract presents the first results achieved by the collaboration between the Bioengineering Group at DIBRIS and the Pharmaceutics Group at DIFAR. These results cover aspects from the chemical world, some biotechnological issues and some interesting computer science applications.
