Using a set of key-concepts (such as “stereotype”, “script”, “prejudice”, “generalization”, “ingroup”, “outgroup”, “joke”, “mocking”, etc.), this paper focuses on the idea that jokes’ scripts (Raskin 1985) can reveal the main stereotypes of a given “ingroup” (here - Russians) about a given “outgroup” (here - Italians). In the selected web corpus of jokes, the Russian stereotypes about “Italians” originate from the artificial image of “Italians” created in Soviet audiovisual cult-works.

Abstract
Using a set of key-concepts (such as “stereotype”, “script”, “prejudice”, “generalization”, “ingroup”, “outgroup”, “joke”, “mocking”, etc.), this paper focuses on the idea that jokes’ scripts (Raskin 1985) can reveal the main stereotypes of a given “ingroup” (here - Russians) about a given “outgroup” (here - Italians). In the selected web corpus of jokes, the Russian stereotypes about “Italians” originate from the artificial image of “Italians” created in Soviet audiovisual cult-works.File in questo prodotto:
