The destruction of images in comics is never an end in itself, but is an aesthetic and communicative process aimed at expressing an extreme situation, highly problematic, difficult to manage, impossible to contain within the rails of linear narration. The comic strip is crisscrossed with destroyed and disappeared images, with black spaces that fill the boards. The article analyzes some contemporary comics in order to identify the dynamics that support the destruction of images. Contemporary conflicts are confronted by Nawel Louerrad in Les vêpres algériennes (2012) and by Maximilien Le Roy in Faire le mur (2010). Then the memory of the period of the Second World War is the subject treated by Stéphane Levallois in La résistance du sanglier (2008) and by Pietro Scarnera in Una stella tranquilla (2013). Finally I will deal with an album that tells the life and work of workers in a chemical plant today, Fucking Factory by Efix and Levaray (2010).
La distruzione delle immagini nel fumetto non è mai fine a se stessa, ma il risultato di un processo estetico e comunicativo volto ad esprimere una situazione estrema, altamente problematica, difficile da gestire, impossibile da contenere nei binari della narrazione lineare. Il fumetto è attraversato da immagini distrutte e svanite, con spazi neri che riempiono le tavole. L'articolo analizza un certo numero di fumetti contemporanei per identificarne le dinamiche della distruzione delle immagini. I conflitti contemporanei sono affrontati da Nawel Louerrad in Les vêpres algériennes (2012) e da Maximilien Le Roy in Faire le mur (2010). La memoria del periodo della seconda guerra mondiale è poi il tema trattato da Stéphane Levallois in La résistance du sanglier (2008) e da Pietro Scarnera in Una stella tranquilla (2013). Infine si tratta di un album che racconta la vita e il lavoro degli operai in una fabbrica chimica oggi, Putain d'usine di Efix e Levaray (2010).
