Ervino Pocar. Ritratto di un germanista, Gorizia

This essay focuses on the figure, the work and the ars operandi of Ervino Pocar, one of the greatest cultural mediator between the German cultural world and the Italian cultural one. The survey, not only studies Pocar’s translating method, both in prose and in poetry, on the example of his translations from Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka and Hermann Hesse; but also presents for the first time in Italy the complete bibliography – verified ‘in the field’ – of his translations: those published and those unpublished.

Il presente studio ha per oggetto la figura, l’opera e l’ars operandi di Ervino Pocar, uno dei massimi mediatori tra il mondo culturale di area tedesca e il mondo culturale italiano. Tale lavoro, oltre a indagare la tecnica traduttiva di Pocar sia in campo prosastico, sia in campo poetico, sull’esempio delle sue versioni da Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka ed Hermann Hesse, presenta per la prima volta in Italia la bibliografia completa – verificata ‘sul campo’ – delle sue traduzioni: di quelle edite, e di quelle inedite.
