Romano Guardini is a German theologian. Politically speaking, he concentrates on individual, community and State. He finds the origin of political life in the dialogical relation between individual and community and in the State the God’s representative in worldly things. He declares himself against party power during the Republic of Weimar and, particularly, against the pagan totalitarianism in the Nazi era, whose antidote is, according to his theory, God’s public role in political life.
