According to the historical and botanical analysis of the Ligurian promenades two factors can be pointed out as the main responsible of the deep alteration of coastal landscape in cities: first the massive arrival of ecotic species, many of them from tropical and subtropical countries and their acclimatationin Riviera expecially in XIX century; second the quick growth of tourism in Ligurian Riviera in XIX and XX centuries.
