The oxygen ion conduction of YSZ, which is usually used as electrolyte of SOFC, operates at high temperature of about 1000°C. The recent trend in developing SOFC is to reduce the operating temperature. This can be obtained by the development of proton conducting cells, in which the oxygen conducting electrolyte is replaced with proton conducting materials. At 500-600°C the proton conducting ceramics display higher conductivity with respect to the oxygen transporting electrolyte BZY were prepared by solid state route and sintered at different temperature. The proton conductivity was determinate by impedance spectroscopy.

Abstract
The oxygen ion conduction of YSZ, which is usually used as electrolyte of SOFC, operates at high temperature of about 1000°C. The recent trend in developing SOFC is to reduce the operating temperature. This can be obtained by the development of proton conducting cells, in which the oxygen conducting electrolyte is replaced with proton conducting materials. At 500-600°C the proton conducting ceramics display higher conductivity with respect to the oxygen transporting electrolyte BZY were prepared by solid state route and sintered at different temperature. The proton conductivity was determinate by impedance spectroscopy.File in questo prodotto:
