The present work was undertaken in order either to determine the removal of single heavy metals (namely, Cd2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cr3+, Ag+, Ba2+, Al3+) by use of re-hydrated dead biomass of Spirulina platensis, or to evaluate the effect of the presence of cadmium, as a competing cation, on the biosorption of the other metals.

Abstract

The present work was undertaken in order either to determine the removal of single heavy metals (namely, Cd2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cr3+, Ag+, Ba2+, Al3+) by use of re-hydrated dead biomass of Spirulina platensis, or to evaluate the effect of the presence of cadmium, as a competing cation, on the biosorption of the other metals.
