The book addresses the key issues relating to the new and most disturbing problems of the contemporary world. The first part is devoted to the load global population that continues to increase placing in doubt, according to some, the most important global resource. Then the authors examine the concepts of states, nations and borders, terrestrial or maritime. They also addresse the complex iterations between men and the natural environment, even when the latter rests with alarming catastrophic events. The last part of the paper is devoted to fundamental aspects of economic activities including paid particular attention to the phenomenon of tourism and its complicated relationship with the environment and human societies.
