This paper was commissioned by the editor, Professor Ira B. Nadel of UBC, for “the first volume to summarize and analyze the multiple contexts of Pound’s work, underlining the magnitude of his contributions and drawing on new archival, textual, and theoretical studies” (jacket). It provides an overview of the little-studied influence of Pound’s Italian ambience on his creative work, and discusses Italian contacts (Praz, Marinetti, Saviotti, etc.) often ignored in Pound scholarship. It documents the “micro-history” of Pound’s life in Italy and suggests that this is an essential key to a new reading of The Cantos.

Abstract
This paper was commissioned by the editor, Professor Ira B. Nadel of UBC, for “the first volume to summarize and analyze the multiple contexts of Pound’s work, underlining the magnitude of his contributions and drawing on new archival, textual, and theoretical studies” (jacket). It provides an overview of the little-studied influence of Pound’s Italian ambience on his creative work, and discusses Italian contacts (Praz, Marinetti, Saviotti, etc.) often ignored in Pound scholarship. It documents the “micro-history” of Pound’s life in Italy and suggests that this is an essential key to a new reading of The Cantos.File in questo prodotto:
